Nestled on a sun-drenched plateau above the Lauterbrunnen Valley, our hotel first opened its doors in 1953 as a rustic alpine lodge catering to wanderers and nature lovers. Over the decades, we have preserved the character of the original stone-and-timber architecture while thoughtfully expanding our facilities to meet modern comforts. Today, we honor our heritage by displaying vintage black-and-white photographs in the lobby and offering guided “history walks” that retrace the footsteps of early mountaineers.
